Our grandmothers already knew the fantastic properties of virgin olive oil as a beauty cream. The softness of the oil, non-irritating and antibacterial, very rich in antioxidants are very beneficial for women’s skin. Olive oil cares for dry, works as shaving foam and is a natural make-up remover.
Uses of virgin olive oil as a beauty product
Olive oil for dry skin care
if sometimes your skin feels extremely dry, apply a layer of olive oil all over it, including your lips. You will see how in a short time the notes are soft, elastic and hydrated. It is true that it is a bit sticky, that you can use it while you relax in the bathtub, and that way there is no problem if you get your hair dirty. Another less cumbersome way to use it is by adding just a couple of drops to some other mask that you are going to wear. This will add a touch of extra hydration to the treatment.
Olive oil for nail care
Weak and brittle nails greatly benefit from virgin olive oil. Put the tips of your fingers to soak for a few minutes in a glass with oil when doing your manicure. And if your fingers and nails are stained, for example from smoking, also add a few drops of lemon juice.
Olive oil hair care
massaging your hair with warm virgin olive oil before washing it provides a dose of hydration. You should do it the night before, or at least a couple of hours before washing it, to allow it to take effect. Even better if you cover your hair with a towel moistened with hot water afterwards. It is a fabulous remedy for dry and damaged hair.
Olive oil as an exfoliate
to exfoliate the skin of the hands or feet you can mix sugar with virgin olive oil and rub them. Massage well, and put on some gloves or socks before going to bed. The next morning you will have them very soft.
Skin care during hair removal
if you shave with a razor, try using virgin olive oil instead of shaving foam to protect your skin and make the razor glide well.
Natural makeup remover
Have you run out of your favorite makeup remover lotion? You can replace it with a couple of drops of virgin olive oil on a cotton pad.
