Just as the eyes are the reflection of the soul, the hands can be an indication of the time you dedicate to caring for your own body. Usually they are the first to say hello, to measure the temperature of the water with which we will bathe the baby and even to check if it has stopped raining. But many times our do not receive the care they deserve. Sometimes excess water dehydrates them, some cleaning products crack or dry them out and there are also stains left by time, the relentless.
Some of the factors that affect our are difficult to tackle, but it never hurts to wear gloves to protect them from the cold, or rubber if we wash the dishes or clothes. It is also healthy to dry them carefully with disposable wipes, including the space between the fingers, and to frequently use nourishing and moisturizing creams. Here I leave you a homemade recipe for the care of your hands that will surely work for you.
Homemade cream for hand care
Ingredients
– ½ cup of olive oil.
– 3 tablespoons of cocoa butter.
– 1 tablespoon of beeswax.
– 1 tablespoon of aloe Vera gel.
– 1 400 IU Vitamin E capsule
– 1 tablespoon of each of the following fresh plants (or 1 ½ if they are dried and crushed)
– Chamomile flowers, elderberry, lavender flowers, rose petals, rosemary leaves, scented geranium and thyme.
Preparation
- it is advisable to verify, before beginning, that the utensils are clean and dry and that the glass or cup where the mixture will be prepared has been sterilized with hot water.
- Mix the herbs in a cup.
- Heat the olive in a measuring cup for 1 1/2 minutes in the microwave on high power, then pour the oil over the herbs, cover with a small saucer, and allow the herbs to soak for 10 minutes.
- Strain through a fine mesh strainer into the measuring cup.
- Drain the liquid by gently pressing the plants with the back of a spoon, or by placing the material in a bag and pressing until the liquid is extracted.
- Add the cocoa butter and stir, using a toothpick, until the cocoa butter is dissolved.
- Carefully cut the beeswax into thin slices, add them to the liquid, and stir until melted and fully blended.
- If this mixture is difficult for you, place the glass in the microwave and heat the contents on high power in 20-second intervals until the wax liquefies.
- Add the aloe Vera gel, and stir until you get a perfect mixture of the ingredients.
Pour out the contents of the vitamin E capsule and stir. - Scoop the final mixture into sterilized, plastic jar-sized containers or cream jars.
- Let the cream rest until it takes its final consistency and cools down; place the lids and labels with the date of preparation. It is not recommended to use it beyond six months after its preparation.
